Blogging

Shortly after I came out to British Columbia in early 2006 I had a case of severely high blood pressure. It wouldn't have been fair to an employer for me to work for them until I got my health situation sorted out. I was on medications to lower the blood pressure and it took until early 2007 to find the cause. I finally went to a naturopath who found that a microscopic parasite was the cause for all this.

While getting my health in order, I took up blogging to share my photography. This way I wasn't wasting time and others got to enjoy the photos, not just me and those close to me.

In May of this year I had a mini-stroke cause again by severely high blood pressure. I may end up gong to the naturopath again since the specialist and other MDs can't seem to find the cause. This has only been a problem out here. Before that in Ontario, the blood pressure was only marginally high, not severely high like in BC.

Knowledge is good because being forewarned is forearmed!

All that said, enjoy this blog and all the photos I share with you.

Well, it's raining. There's rain, rain and more rain in the forecast. It's pouring rain right now and it was raining the day before as well. I had a look at the long range forecast for the next few days. The sun may peak out later in the week but rain is in the forecast for every day including those days that might see some sun. On the bright side spring flowers are coming in bloom, like crocuses, snowdrops and there is plenty of spring heather in bloom as well. On some shrubs the buds have opened up and the first leaves have begun to form. A couple of weeks ago I even saw a large rhododendron shrub in bloom with red blossoms. It's located near the tennis courts in Stanley Park (Vancouver). The trees above are full of heron nests. That is the area that the Great Blue Heron nests each year. I am looking forward to getting some decent photos of the nests and the heron activity. We will soon be coming into their mating and nesting period. Something to look forward to. Expect some photos soon (well, as soon as the rain lets up a bit!). Have a great weekend!!!

Well Monday was a different story after all the rainy days we had for a while. The sun was out with some cloud cover but temperatures were a bit cooler. It was still nice. It was a perfect day to get out for a walk in the fresh air and sunshine!
