Saturday afternoon I went for a walk along the north side of False Creek. There was nothing unusual there, just the usual, much of which I've taken photos of. That changed when I got to Sunset Beach. Note the square-sailed boat in the distance on the right-hand side of the photo above. Below is a closer shot as the viking-style boat was heading across English Bay to its port of call near the Planetarium on the south side. Below that photos are some cropped pics at various stages as it sailed across the bay. It looks like someone built a replica of an original ship. The tiller to steer the boat would be on the starboard side (literally "steerboard side") and though I wasn't able to get a closer look, those boats would have been built in a klinker style! The boat looked rather unusual alongst all the modern boats and ships. Mind you, we do have the mountains and waterways similar to the fjords of Norway!
